Take a moment to reflect on this truth: we were bought at a great price. When sin entered the world, humanity chose its own way, and the result of sin was death.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”kjv (Romans 6:23)
However, God’s purpose for humanity has never changed. When Jesus Christ came to redeem mankind, He brought new hope to the world.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)kjv
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”(Romans 3:23)kjv
Jesus Christ offered Himself as a sacrifice. He shed His blood to free humanity from the power of sin.
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)kjv
He took on human form and gave up His heavenly glory so that we could be redeemed. The price He paid was His own life. He suffered and died on the cross for us.
The price He paid was His very life. He endured suffering and died on the cross so that we might live. Because of His sacrifice, we now have hope—hope that brings forgiveness, restoration, and new life.
When we receive salvation, we begin a new journey with Him. Our lives are no longer our own. Christ comes to dwell within us, making our bodies His holy temple.
May we, therefore, live with gratitude and reverence, guarding our hearts and turning away from sin, so that our lives may honor the One who gave everything for us.
